The Peppermint essence is useless now! The peppermint flavour is almost non existent in comparison to the alcohol version which was miles ahead of this one. Was extremely disappointed in the new product and will be sourcing our flavourings elsewhere.

We are sorry to hear that our new extracts are not suited to your needs. Our new oil-based extracts provide a superior, more rounded flavour and better bake stability for their core use in baking, desserts and icing, but also provide further applications for the product, including candy making and chocolate. Unfortunately as you have noticed; this new product no longer holds the same water solubility qualities as our previous offering, making it unsuitable for water based beverages, such as tea or soft drinks. While it is still suitable for beverages that are milk or cream based, you may notice a few small oil specks on the surface of your beverage if it is a lower fat milk alternative.

Cannot now use peppermint essence in water based recipes, like lemon & peppermint refresher drink, or cocktails.
Really hate this new item, and now our Duopoly of supermarkets have dictated (yet again) that we can’t buy the ingredients that we know and love – no more rum or brandy essence indeed – and at Christmas!!

Hi Joaniy, thank you for your message. We are very sorry to hear you are not a fan of our new product! Our new extracts can most definitely be used in drinks. While oil based, they are still a liquid that can be mixed to enhance the flavour of cocktails! You will also only need 1/3 of the regular old product you would need. For our out of stock items, we always work incredibly hard to ensure consumers have all the products they need available to them year round, but if Coles and Woolworths are no longer interested in stocking a product, there is sadly not al to we can do.
